I have known the boats since 1975 when I studied at Essex University and spent many a happy hour watching them sailing on the River Colne. This site is a tribute to all those who have sailed and maintained them since 1935. There are some unanswered questions, perhaps this new medium will provide the answers.
We as owners and enthusiasts look towards maintaining the class and racing into the future.

This is the book that was the start of my research into the class. It was produced for the 50th anniversary of the Wivenhoe One Design Class and most of the information has come from it. I am grateful to all the original contributors for their foresight in producing the commemorative book and to Wivenhoe Sailing Club for allowing me to reproduce much of its content. I am also grateful to Derek for his enthusiasm in updating the class details on being elected WOD Chair. |
Do you know where the missing boats went? Do you know who built 7 & 8? |
